Volunteering is a way of helping others who need help. As for me, I literally enjoy volunteering because it helps me to get to meet new people, know more about them. It is a way for me to use my skills to help those new people, and as a future health care professional it is a way to learn how to be more open minded and compassionate toward those in need. Why the needy? I would say that they are the group of people that needs help to get through their lives. It is true that God is the one sustaining our needs, but He asked us to help our neighbor who is in need.
And for me, it is the duty of every single person, not only Christian, to help those in need.
According to me, the benefits are for the volunteer and the needy. Because the volunteer by giving a hand to those in need in a community, he is getting to meet new people, to learn new skills, and according to some studies volunteering brings some fulfillment for the volunteer which I have been able to experience. For the needy, by showing him/her a gesture of kindness from time to time, we are showing them that they are not alone and that people are caring for them which is something really important for them.
